Trouble is lot of parts you fit even genuine are shite , seen bottom ball joints still good on one side new one on other side worn out 2years later original one still good , had plenty of new water pump 20,000 leaking again , lot of stuf f now last rediculous mileage 300,000 still perfect now timing belts whole different issue

  2. If it is impossible to do without taking all that apart again or if it is cheap and easy to do ya I'll do it. But if it's crazy expensive or at least expensive enough where id rather wait and be willing to take out apart again. But I am my own mechanic so labor only costs time for me

  3. Get it all done while you're in there at the customers request but also let them know the possibility of how deep their pockets should be before going that far into jumping off the edge

  4. Yeah, but we also need to consider that sometimes replacement parts aren’t the same quality of oem parts. And sometimes, oem is just rebranded aftermarket junk. So, if it ain’t broke, sometimes you shouldn’t fix it. Particularly anything with bearings.

  5. I work in a fleet situation. We only take care of the cause of the immediate concern, unless there is some sort of “campaign” that our management is pushing (i.e. the ‘17+ serviceable CCV boxes that we are being pushed to change to the non-serviceable components).

With the crappy parts I've been getting 60% of them have gone back because they were bad never seen anything like this anyway I always say if you already in there replace it but like I said I think today you could be shooting yourself in the foot by being smarter than the parts your working on

  7. How far do you take it? That's the question. "While we're in there we might as well replace the pistons, and the crank, and the block, and we should probably replace the frame, drive line, and full chassis, too! It'll be cheaper in the long run!"
